Poster Topics

The conference and expo will involve the entire Florida university system, state and local governments, businesses, and experts engaged in all aspects of sustainable research, products, and thought leadership.

The conference is Thursday and Friday, Oct. 8-9; the expo is Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10. Poster presentations will occur on Saturday.  We’ve made it easy for you to participate in one or both events. We encourage the submission of the following posters:

  • Colleges, centers, or programs: Display your sustainability related promotional material, activities, and programs.
  • Faculty members: Display your research, classes, projects and activities. 
  • Students: Display your work - there will be awards!

The student posters will be judged. The top undergraduate and graduate student posters will each earn a $500 award. Second and third place students will win certificates. The posters will be judged based on:

-Significance of the work to promoting or improving environmental sustainability
-Quality of the research
-Novelty of the research or approach
- Clarity of message and relevance to readers

Instructions for abstracts

Abstracts should be less than 300 words following the guidelines listed below. Please follow all formatting examples of font (Times New Roman, size 12), margins (1" on all sides), and headings. Upload as either a pdf or word document.

Body of ABSTRACT
Each poster presenter should prepare an abstract in this format for inclusion in the Conference Book of Abstracts. The abstract should briefly and succinctly state the purpose, methods, and conclusions of your poster. This abstract can be no more than 300 words. This will be printed in the Book of Abstracts. No illustrations should be used.

Please use this abstract template, including the defined styles and margins, when preparing your abstract.

Posters must be hung up by 9 a.m. on Thursday (October 8) so they can be viewed by participants from the 4th Campus and Community Sustainability Conference (October 8, 9) and the Green Expo (October 10).
